Artist Statement, Glenn Strachan

Since the age of eight when my father bought me a Polaroid camera and a pack of film each week from 47th Street Photo, I’ve been taking pictures, literally tens of thousands of pictures. During my 62 years, I have gone through many phases from carrying a 12lb camera around China for months to what I use now, an iPhone 10S. Whereas my cameras were with me when I went searching for images, my iPhone is always with me at the most unexpected times. My specialty is ephemeral photography – scenes which last only for moments or even seconds. I have combined my love of photography with my love of travel. I’ve been to 116 countries and have pictures from all of them. I reside on the Magothy River, near Annapolis Maryland.
