PREMATURE NO LONGER<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
 I didn\u2019t tell Carol that it was my first.\n Carol was<\/em> my first\u2014and I did not last.\n  \n She would later sacrifice both breasts\n to appease the wolves of metastasis,\n  \n which took her anyway. O perpetual \n Virgin Mary, please convey to Carol,\n  \n in that part of Zion saved for women\n who died down here of love, of grief, \n  \n of childbirth, of only being feminine,\n of living with psychotic gentlemen:\n  \n no longer premature, I feel the sun\n set upon each day, and stars appear.\n  \n Virgo might avert constellated eyes,\n but Lilith obtains full measure now.\n  \n I ride a wave of Sirens, as I did not\n at seventeen\u2014though when I name\n  \n mermaids after Carol, they withdraw,\n and I must troll the briny deep again.\n <\/pre>\n\n\n\n
